A Tribute to Thomas Berry

An Early Earth Day Eco-Spirituality Celebration

Thomas Berry, priest, university scholar, geologian/ecologian, author of The Dream of the Earth, The Universe Story (with Brian Swimme), and The Great Work, is one of the seminal thinkers of the twentieth century.

·         Professor Kathleen O’Gorman, Loyola University New Orleans, “Weekends with Thomas: Sharing his Vision and Wisdom
“Over some 15 years, I had the privilege of knowing and learning from Thomas Berry.  Sometimes in lecture halls, frequently in informal visits and conversations, and daily in reading his published and unpublished writings and incorporating his ideas into my teaching.  In this presentation, I hope to share some of the profound and relevant wisdom gleaned from this tutelage with those gathered at this memorial in his honor.”
 
·         Fr. Al Fritsch, SJ, Earthhealinginfo.com “Reclaiming the Commons” 
Reclaiming the Commons is a mandate that all believers-in-the-future ought to consider in order to save our wounded Earth.  Al Fritsch, SJ, has been engaged in public interest work for four decades; his writings include Daily Reflections, which can be found at www.earthhealing.info.
