William S. Schmidt is a long-time faculty member of the Institute of Pastoral Studies, a Diplomate in the American 
Association of Pastoral Counselors, a skillful clinician, conference presenter, and the editor of The Journal of Spirituality
in Mental Health (Haworth Press/Taylor & Francis). He also has extensive experience in pastoral careas a hospital
chaplain and a CPE supervisor, having worked in the field for 18 years. His research interests include the interface of Psychology, Theology, and Spirituality. His specific current focus addresses the nature of Pilgrimage and its potential as a
resource for personal growth, transformation, and healing.
