Steve comes to Loyola with extensive management and marketing experience, having previously worked for several religious publishers including Loyola Press, Abbey Press, Sheed & Ward, and SVS Press. His duties include facilitating online learning courses and groups, project management for special events and non-credit studies, and communicating with a variety of constituencies interested in the wide-array of transformational academic offerings of the Institute of Pastoral Studies. In addition to his part-time work at IPS, Steve is the pastor of St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Kenosha, WI, where he also directs a spiritual life center, which provides spiritual companioning, primarily with pastoral leaders from a wide variety of faith traditions. In addition to the above academic credentials, he is concurrently completing an M.A. in Applied Orthodox Theology at Balamand University in the Republic of Lebanon, where he is writing a thesis on Apatheia and Affect in the Ladder of Divine Ascent, and an M.A. in Pastoral Studies at IPS. Steve has co-authored two books and written numerous articles and book reviews in the area of spirituality and pastoral care.
