Standard Electronic Classrooms 101

Prerequisite: None
Length: 1 hour
Platform: Adobe Connect, online, self-paced

Abstract: This course introduces participants to the standard electronic classroom at Loyola. At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to 1) recognize the components of a standard classroom system, 2) demonstrate operation and troubleshooting, 3) identify the types of connections available, and 4) know how to access support and resources. It has been designed as a self-paced, online course. Participants should be able to complete it within one hour.

Follow these instructions and choose the "Instructional Technologies" folder in the Training Catalog, then select "Electronic Classrooms"  to enroll in 5 short lessons for Standard Electronic Classroom 101.

 

Specialty Electronic Classrooms 102

Prerequisite: 101
Length: 1.5 hours
Platform: Adobe Connect, online, self-paced
Assessment: Multiple choice quizzes

Abstract: This course provides an overview of the speciality classrooms available at Loyola. At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to 1) identify the campus locations of speciality classrooms, 2) locate the features of a speciality classroom, 3) operate a document camera, 4) operate an interactive whiteboard, 5) distinguish between video and lecture capture systems and record a session, and 6) facilitate a video conference call. It will be designed as a self-paced, online course. Participants should be able to complete it within one and a half hours.

Sakai 101, Migration from Blackboard to Sakai

Prerequisite: None
Length: 30 minutes
Platform: Adobe Connect, online, self-paced
Assessment: Multiple choice quiz

Abstract: This course introduces the concept of a learning management system, and assists with migrating from Blackboard to Sakai. By the end of this course, participants will be able to 1) define a learning management system, 2) compare and contrast the layouts and features of Blackboard and Sakai, and 3) know how to access support and resources available. It has been designed as an online, self-paced course with a short assessment at the end. Participants should be able to complete it within 30 minutes.

Sakai 102, An Introduction to Sakai

Prerequisite: 101
Length: 1.5 hours

Abstract: This course provides a comprehensive overview of the Sakai collaborative learning environment. At the conculsion of the course, participants will be able to 1) navigate within Sakai, 2) customize course structure, 3) add and organize course content, 4) demonstrate the ability to communicate with students, 5) use collaboration tools to connect with students, and 6) apply assessment strategies. It will be designed as an online, self-paced course with a short assessment at the end of each module. Participants should be able to complete it within one and a half hours.
