Microsoft Exchange is a platform that powers email, calendars, and other collaboration tools. Loyola moved to Exchange as part of the email upgrade that took place earlier this year. As a result, some of the programs you use every day have also changed. Students now have Microsoft Office 365, a suite of programs that includes email and calendaring, along with Lync Online, SharePoint Online, and Office Web Apps. Faculty and Staff now use Microsoft Outlook for email and calendaring and Microsoft Lync for instant messaging and web, audio, and video conferencing.
Microsoft Exchange will also enable Loyola’s move to unified messaging, an upgrade that will integrate our voicemail system with Outlook, and Lync, allowing you to access email, voicemail, calendar, and contacts anywhere, on any device.
