GroupWise Information for Health Sciences (HSD)
On May 16, 2012, LUC ITS will create all new IDs and email for the Health Sciences Division. A team comprising of LUC, HSD and LUMC Information Technology has collaborated on designing and testing this shift to LUC email. In addition, the team has met with key functional users at LUC and HSD to identify and resolve any potential indirect impact to system security and access.
Note: This will not affect existing IDs and email for HSD faculty, students and staff. This change will not affect HSD clinical faculty.
CHANGES TO HSD EMAIL
- All new IDs will have a luc.edu email address and a GroupWise account on the University’s email system. HSD faculty, staff and students that currently have a LUMC.edu email address will be able to see the calendars and access luc.edu users via their GroupWise client.
- The process for requesting the creation of a new HSD ID remains the same, with one minor exception; the requestor will not need to request an HSD email. The email account will be automatically provisioned when the UVID is created.
- Issues and problems associated with an account or GroupWise from LUC.edu will call the LUC help desk at: 773-508-4487. Any person who has a LUMC ID and GroupWise account will continue to call the LUMC help desk at: 708-216-2160. Should a person call the incorrect help desk, the two help desks will direct the caller to the other help desk.
- A few of the new LUC email settings differ from those at LUMC. While some exceptions have been granted to individual users, the standard settings that cover all LUC faculty, students and staff will apply to new HSD users.
