Microsoft Exchange is a platform that powers e-mail, calendars, and other collaboration tools. Loyola's Health Sciences Division moved to Exchange as part of its March 2014 email upgrade.
With the upgrade, students gained access to Microsoft Office 365, a suite of programs that includes email and calendaring, along with Lync Online, SharePoint Online, and Office Web Apps. Faculty and staff began using Microsoft Outlook for email and calendaring and most also have access to Microsoft Lync for instant messaging and web, audio, and video conferencing.
Loyola moved its Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses to Exchange in May 2013. The Loyola University Health System migrated to Outlook in the spring of 2014.
