Use Pam to Reset Temp Password

To change the temporary password you received from the ITS Support Center , you will need to go to PAM. You will need to either open that link in a new window, or print out a copy of the instructions. You will also need to know what your password is currently set to. If your password has not expired and you would like to change it, you can also follow these same instructions.

Once at PAM, you will need to either type in your username in the Username field or type in your last name in the Last Name field. If you have a long last name, you can simply type the first few characters then a *, such as baze*. Then click the Next button under the box you typed in.

You should see a screen with one or more login IDs. Locate your ID and click on it. If you do not see your ID, go back to the initial screen and make sure you correctly typed your login ID.

Type in your temporary password in the Old Password: field. Type your new password in the New Password: field, then again in the Verify password: field. Remember that your password must be at least 8 characters long, and contain at least two alphabetic (abcABC) characters and at least two numbers (123). Click Submit.

You should see a message informing you that you have successfully changed your password.

To more easily change your password in the future, especially if you need to change it when the ITS Support Center  is not open, we recommend that you set up your PAM questions. Once you do this, you will be able to follow the web-based procedure to reset your password at any time from any Internet connection.
