ICPSR


The Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research (ICPSR) is part of the Institute for Social Research (ISR) at the University of Michigan. ICPSR is a valuable resource for students in the social sciences, education, health sciences, and business. ICPSR maintains and provides access to a vast archive of social science data for research and instruction. ICPSR also offers training in quantitative methods. Loyola University Chicago participates in the ICPSR Direct program. With ICPSR Direct Loyola students, faculty, and staff may download non-public as well as public datasets directly from any any computer located in the Loyola open-access computing labs or from any Loyola faculty/staff desktop. US Census Data


Data from the 2000 US Census is now easily available from the census web site. In addition to providing web access to the latest census data this site also gives quick access to tables and maps profiling population, housing, economic, and geographic data for your area of interest.


Compustat

Standard and Poor's Compustat is a database of standardized financial, statistical, and market information which provides more than 340 annual and 120 quarterly Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Flow of Funds, and supplemental data items on more than 10,000 active and 8,400 inactive companies. For most companies, annual and quarterly data is available for a maximum of 20 years and 48 quarters. Compustat is available in all open-access computing labs and from any faculty/staff computer.
