Graduate Programs: M.J. Degree in Child and Family Law
FACTSHEET
Application Deadline: June 1st
Class Size: Loyola usually enrolls an M.J. entering class of 10-15 individuals.
Student Body Profile: M.J. students come from a variety of backgrounds. Many have worked with children and families in such fields as education, health care, mental health, child welfare or criminal justice. Often M.J. students have been away from the university environment for some time.
Career Opportunities: While the M.J. degree is primarily a career enhancement degree for professionals who already work with children and families, it can lead to other career opportunities. The M.J program, for example, provides an excellent background for those wishing to work in court, agency or hospital administration, child advocacy, foundation relations, government affairs, or professional consulting.
Tuition and Financial Aid: $990.00 per credit hour for 19 credits plus a flat fee of $1,500.00 for the course, ChildLaw Thesis and Professional Development. This figure is for the 2007-2008 academic year. Tuition remission may also be available for well-qualified candidates. Students may also qualify for loan assistance.
