Center for Business and Corporate Governance Law

The Center for Business and Corporate Governance Law of Loyola University Chicago School of Law recognizes the rapid changes in today's society from downsizing and global competition to explosive new technologies. Our exceptional programs in business and law provide education and training in the legal dimensions of contemporary business. The involvement of our faculty, practicing attorneys, jurists and business professionals allows us to provide students with opportunities to learn the practical aspects and gain experience in the current issues of the legal and business world. We conduct academic, practical work, seminars and training in support of our mission: to offer legal education on a human scale.

The Center offers the Certificate in Taxation with the J.D. degree, as well as advanced degrees in business law such as the Master of Jurisprudence (M.J.) for business professionals, and the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Business Law and the Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation for practicing attorneys. Our Business Law Center Clinic offers legal representation at low cost to small business entrepreneurs and to community-based organizations. We ensure that students recognize and understand the vital links between law, business and service to the community.

The law school collaborates with Loyola's School of Business Administration (SBA) in a number of activities that involve both law and business, including the newly established Center of Excellence in Integrated Risk Management and Corporate Governance.
