Elder Law Initiative: Summer Institute on Aging

THE THIRD ANNUAL SUMMER INSTITUTE ON AGING
AGING AND MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES - August 13-16, 2007
This four-day interdisciplinary course features faculty and guest speakers from a variety of disciplines and is open to professionals as well as Loyola law and graduate students. The focus of the course differs each summer, with recent topics covering the effects of Alzheimer's disease and Long Term Care issues. Through simulations and group work, this course provides an excellent opportunity for true interdisciplinary collaboration. This course counts towards the requirements for the certificate in Health Law. The 2007 Summer Institute will focus on mental health and aging. The course will explore the psychosocial, ethical, policy and legal issues related to aging and mental health, taking into account racial, gender, ethnic, and income differences among the elderly.
