Student Organizations: The Brehon Society of Loyola
We are the first and only Irish law student association at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. The Brehon Society was established in 2008 to provide a social and professional gathering for students of Irish ancestry and those who appreciate Irish culture.
The term "Brehon" comes from the old form of Irish law known as the Brehon Laws. The term itself means "judge". The Brehon Laws were a collection of rulings handed down orally by the judges of Ireland in the Old Irish period and were recorded sometime between 600 and 900 CE.
We hope to see you at our events! Sláinte!
