The Business Law Society (BLS) brings together those Loyola law students who share a common interest in business law. Our goal is to provide law students the opportunity to gain practical knowledge in areas of business law, to meet other students with similar interests, and to gain insight from practicing lawyers in all areas of business law.
2009 - 2010 Academic Year - Planned Activities:
Fall 2009
- Tax Practitioners Panel: A panel of practitioners brought together for the purpose of sharing information about working in tax law, explaining their career paths, and answering student questions.
- JD/MBA Joint Degree Program Info Session: Hosted by a representative of the Graduate School of Business.
- Meet the Business and Tax Law Professors: Listen to Loyola professors discuss the courses they teach, their experiences in business law, and general advice for a successful law school career and beyond.
Spring 2010
- Corporate Practitioners Panel: A panel of practitioners brought together for the purpose of sharing information about working in business and corporate law, explaining their career paths, and answering student questions.
- Securities Practitoners Panel: A panel of practitioners brought together for the purpose of sharing information about working in securities law, explaining their career paths, and answering student questions.
- Pre-Registration Advice from 3Ls Event: An opportunity for 1L students to get advice on registering for classes.
- Student Loans/Wealth Management Presentation: Come listen to some practical advice about these sometimes stressful issues from a trained professional in the field.
Miscellaneous
- "Bar Review" sponsored by the Business Law Society
- Other informal social gatherings.
