Public Interest Law Reporter: The Symposium Issue
The 2007-08 Public Interest Law Reporter is pleased to announce a call for entries for its Symposium issue: "Immigration Reform: If Everyone Has a Solution, Then What's the Problem?"
Submission guidelines are as follows:
A 2,000 - 4,000 word original article on a topic directly related to a current issue concerning immigration and/or immigration reform. The article should address a contemporary public interest legal issue concerning immigration and be written in a journalistic format. While in-depth legal analysis is encouraged, PILR also encourages writers to include appropriate interview comments from lawmakers, public interest attorneys, social commentators and legal experts in the field.
Deadline for submissions is March 3, 2008.

This one-day symposium will bring together local and national leaders from many sides of the immigration issue. Speakers will look into the so-called "immigration problem" and explore the key legal and public interest issues currently under discussion and in litigation. This symposium will explore federal and state immigration legislation; immigration policies that affect families with respect to guardianship, education, and health care issues; and the growing impact immigration has on the U.S. labor market.
