Apply as an International Student
To be considered for admission to Loyola University Chicago School of Law's J.D. program, you must submit all of the materials below.
WE BEGIN TAKING APPLICATIONS FOR FALL 2009, OCTOBER 1, 2008.
- A completed School of Law application for admission
- If you have applied to LSDAS you may apply on-line for free, otherwise
- $50.00 fee is required.
- PAPER APPLICATION
- Instructions for Application
- The results of the Law School Admissions Test (LSAT).
- Two academic letters of recommendation
- A two-page personal statement, as stated in the application. There is a one-page optional statement that can be submitted. Instructions are listed in the application.

Starting October 1, 2008, we will accept JD-CAS from LSAC.

The results of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam. The results of the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) exam are required under the following conditions: If you are originally from another country which does not have English as its native language AND you attended college/university outside the US in a country that does not have English as its native language. You are exempt from taking the TOEFL if you are a citizen of a country other than the U.S. and your country of citizenship has English as its native language.

The lowest TOEFL score Loyola University Chicago School of Law will accept is 650, if the test is taken in the paper form; 280, if it is taken via computer; and, 114, if it is taken in the new iBT version. The results of the TOEFL must come directly from ETS (the administrator of the TOEFL).
You may be asked by the Faculty Committee on Admissions to provide the following:

All applicants who received their undergraduate degree from institutions outside of the United States must have their academic credentials evaluated. A complete course by course report of the evaluation must be sent directly to the law admission office from the evaluation service. The law school recognizes evaluations from:

Financial assistance is not available for international students. You will need to provide proof of financial ability to pay in excess of $53,000 U.S. currency to enroll for one year.
We will accept applications for the Fall entering class between October 1 and April 1. Please plan for all of the above material to arrive prior to April in order for the Admission Committee to make an decision early enough to facilitate your plans. Most students try to have their files complete by January.
