ABA Judicial Intern Opportunity Program  

The Summer 2009 Judicial Intern Opportunity Program is a full-time, six week minimum, summer internship program open to all first- or second-year minority and/or financially disadvantaged law students who want to do legal research and writing for state or federal judges in participating cities. Participating judges are from Chicago & surrounding suburbs; Central & Southern Illinois; Houston, Dallas, Southern, & Eastern Texas; Miami, FL; Phoenix, AZ; Los Angeles, CA; San Francisco, CA; and Washington, DC. Students may indicate geographic location preferences on their applications. Interns will receive a stipend of $1,500.

Students applying to the program must submit a completed application, resume, legal writing sample, and a statement of interest. Applications will be accepted beginning October 1 for second-year law students. Applications for first-year law students will be accepted beginning December 1, according to NALP guidelines.
