Externship Opportunities

An externship is an attorney-supervised student internship for which academic credit is granted. Externships present a wonderful opportunity to receive course credit as well as exposure to the practice of law in an area of interest. Sometimes these experiences lead to employment opportunities. Associate Dean James Faught administers the externship program. The Health Law, Business Law, and Child and Family Law programs may also have externship opportunities available.

In addition, the PSLawNet public service database may lead you to government and nonprofit law offices willing to sponsor your externship proposal. For more information, pick up a copy of the current Externship Packet in Dean Faught's office. Please look for Dean Faught's externship announcements in the middle of each semester, and keep in mind that you normally need to line up an externship well in advance of the semester in which you wish to do the work.
