Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) Summer Internships  

The Public Interest Law Initiative (PILI) announces 2009 Summer Internship Opportunities in Chicago for first year and second year law students. PILI Interns receive $5,000 for 10 weeks of work at one of 21 PILI affiliated agencies (listed below).

Beginning on October 15, 2008 the application period for Summer 2009 will open to second year law students. First year law students must wait until December 1, 2008 to apply.

The following affiliated agencies will be hosting PILI summer interns in 2009:

-Chicago Volunteer Legal Services Foundation

-Citizen Advocacy Center

-Coordinated Advice & Referral Program for Legal Services (CARPLS)

-Environmental Law and Policy Center of the Midwest

-Equip for Equality 

-Lambda Legal Defense and Education Fund

-Law Project of the Chicago Coalition for the Homeless

-Lawyers' Committee for Better Housing

-Legal Aid Bureau

-Legal Assistance Foundation of Metropolitan Chicago

-Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund

-National Immigrant Justice Center (formerly MIHRC)

-The Roger Baldwin Foundation of the American Civil Liberties Union of Illinois, Inc.

-Sargent Shriver National Center on Poverty Law
