Reciprocity
If you plan to conduct a job search in a city other than Chicago, the Office of Career Services suggests that you consider requesting permission to use the career services office at a university in that city. Many law schools provide reasonable access to their career resources for students and graduates from other law schools that agree to provide similar services.
Loyola Law Students and Alumni:
To request access to the career services office at a law school in another city, please submit an email request to law-career@luc.edu. In the request please include the following:
-Name
-Name of law school at which you are requesting reciprocity
-Contact name and email address of person granting reciprocity at that law school
-Year of law school graduation
-Email address and phone number
-Date you wish reciprocity to begin
The Office of Career Services will contact the law school on your behalf, and you will be cc'd on the request.
To review specific policies please go to the NALP Directory of Reciprocity Policies. If reciprocity is granted, students/graduates should be sure to read and honor the reciprocity policy of the host school. Many law schools have black out dates (usually in the fall) during which time reciprocity requests will not be granted.
Students & Alumni of other Law Schools applying for Reciprocity at Loyola:
Requests for services can be made in writing or via email by the career services office of the student/graduate's law school in advance of the intended visit. No walk-in requests will be honored. Please see the Loyola University Chicago School of Law Reciprocity Policy for further information. All requests for reciprocity should include the following:
-Name
-Name of law school
-Year of law school graduation
-Email address and phone number
-Date you wish reciprocity to begin
Please note: The Loyola University Chicago School of Law Office of Career Services has a reciprocity "black out" period beginning August 1 and ending November 1. During that period of time, we will not grant reciprocity.
