Master of Laws Summer 2014 New Student Information
Congratulations and welcome to the Online Master of Laws in Health Law program at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. Below you will find information about starting the Master of Laws (LLM) program.
Once classes begin, Patrick Rybarczyk, Online Student Services Coordinator, will serve as your primary contact for the remainder of your tenure at Loyola. Patrick can be reached by at1-800-424-3987 or email@example.com.
Master of Laws Curriculum
All new LLM students should become familiar with the Online LLM in Health Law Curriculum. LLM students are required to complete 24 credit hours in order to receive their degree. Students must enroll in courses each term, including summers, in order to remain in good standing. The section below titled Registering for Classes through LOCUS will detail how to enroll.
Registering for Classes through LOCUS
Shortly after receiving your official offer of admission from the Law School Dean, the Graduate and Professional Enrollment Office will send your Loyola Universal ID (UVID) and password that will give you access to Loyola's Online Connection to University Services or LOCUS. LOCUS is where students register for classes, check grades, and pay tuition bills.
Please register for Summer classes as soon as you receive your UVID. The early registration deadline is April 1, 2014.
At the bottom left-hand side of the LOCUS home page, you will find a Help Menu Box. Click on the link “Enrolling in a Course in LOCUS” for an easy-to-follow guide on registering for classes. If you have any questions or concerns about registration, please contact Shannon Rae at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Required Online Orientation
All LLM students are required to complete the Online Orientation for LLM Students before starting their first class. The orientation should take you approximately two hours to complete, and will be available beginning on April 15, 2014.
You will receive a link and password for the online classroom and orientation website via email on or around that date. Please note that the online classroom will not be available until the first day of the term, May 5, 2014.
As you complete the online orientation, you will have the opportunity to share your photo, contact information, and any other pertinent information you choose through the class facebook feature. We strongly encourage you to share your information, as it helps foster better networking and camaraderie amongst your classmates.
Starting Your Courses
Your course syllabus and assignments will be available through the Learning Management System (LMS) on May 5, 2014. You will always access your assignments, course syllabus, and live and recorded lectures through the LMS. You will receive login information for the LMS during orientation.
Books and Assignments
Loyola's Online Bookstore carries all titles and editions that your professors have ordered for their courses. You may purchase your books from Loyola’s bookstore or from any source that sells textbooks. Be sure to order the proper editions of each book. All of your assignments will be available starting the first week of classes.
