Pamela A. Bloomquist

Dean Bloomquist joined the law school in 1984 as the Director of Law Admission. In 1992, she became the Director of Law Admission and Financial Assistance, and in 1999 was promoted to Assistant Dean. In addition to overseeing the admission and financial aid for the law school program, she is responsible for the J.D. orientation program and first year registration. She works with the faculty to coordinate the Fundamentals of the American Legal System course required of all entering J.D. students.
Prior to joining the law school, Dean Bloomquist was a Graduate Assistant in Loyola University Chicago Office of Student Financial Assistance, while completing her Master's degree. She worked for seven years in undergraduate admissions at several private liberal colleges, including her alma mater, Rockford College, where she also served as the Assistant to the Dean of Students overseeing the year long orientation program.
Dean Bloomquist is an active member of several professional organizations. She is a founding member, and held the offices of President, Vice President and Secretary of the Midwest Alliance of Law School Admission. For the last nine years, she has been a presenter at the annual Law School Admission Conference sponsored by LSAC. She has been a member of the LSAC Services and Program Committee, the Panel on Misconduct and Irregularity in the Admission Process, the Planning Committee for the Annual Meeting, and a speaker at numerous LSAC Law Forums. She has also served on the Executive Boards of the National Association of College Admission Counseling, the Illinois Associate of College Admission Counseling, and Commission II of the American College Personnel Association.
