Important Information for Faculty: Student Evaluations of the Faculty
Do the students get to evaluate me and, if so, can I see what they have to say?
Toward the end of the semester the Registrar, Dora Jacks, will distribute Student Evaluation Forms in your faculty mailbox; for part-time faculty, these are in room 1301. You will need to make time (about ten minutes) during one of your classes to have the students fill out the forms. It is important that all faculty distribute the evaluation forms and that they take the process seriously; this is a valuable form of assessment for the teachers, and the students need to know that the faculty and the administration take this process seriously.
It is best to assign a trusted student to administer them for you. When the students have completed the forms, the student - not you - should collect them and return them to the Registrar's Office in Room 1430. While all of this is going on, our advice is to leave the room. There will always be those students who feel as though you're looking over their shoulder while they evaluate you. After you turn in your grades, you are welcome to contact the Registrar's Office at (312) 915-7167 to get copies of your evaluations.
