Raymond and Mary Simon Chair in Constitutional Law
Loyola University Chicago School of Law invites applications for a tenured position as a distinguished professor in the area of constitutional law for the Raymond and Mary Simon Chair. This position will start July 1, 2008.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND QUALIFICATIONS:
The Raymond and Mary Simon Chair was created through the generosity of the Helen V. Brach Foundation. The foundation’s gift is in honor of its retiring president, Raymond F. Simon, a graduate of Loyola University Chicago School of Law. During his fifty years of practice in Chicago, he has served in prominent positions in both government and the private sector including as Corporation Counsel of the City of Chicago and Deputy Mayor for Richard J. Daley.
The School of Law has begun a national search for a leading scholar in constitutional law to assume the chair position in the fall of 2008. The successful candidate should have a distinguished record of scholarship and teaching. The Simon Chair will be expected to research, publish, and teach in one or more of the following areas: Constitutional Law; Federal Courts; Civil Liberties; Criminal Procedure; and related courses and seminars. The Simon Chair will also have the opportunity to work on developing conferences, speaker series, and other programs in the field.
