About

Ethan is an assistant corporation counsel in the appeals division of the City of Chicago Department of Law. His practice involves representing the City and its officials before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the Illinois Appellate Court, the Illinois Supreme Court, and U.S. Supreme Court. Ethan previously worked in private practice at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP as a litigation associate, and served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kermit Lipez of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit and the Honorable Legrome Davis of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Ethan graduated from Columbia Law School as a James Kent Scholar for outstanding academic achievement and the recipient of the Young B. Smith Prize. He also graduated from Northwestern University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, in Political Science and International Studies, and was the recipient of the William M. McGovern Prize for Academic Excellence and Leadership.
