Biography
Professor Michael joined the Beazley Institute in 2005 as a visiting professor from Iraq.  Professor Michael, also a physician, focuses his courses on health law and access on a national and global scale.  He combines his expertise in medicine, law and global affairs to truly elevate his students' knowledge and perspective on pressing world matters and their effect on health and law communities.

In 2006, Professor Michael led a group of students to New Orleans to study the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina and also lend a hand, helping to demolish and rebuild parts of the city.  He will be returning to New Orleans in the spring of 2007 with Professor Singer's Access to Health Care course.

Prior to joining Loyola, Professor Michael served as a medical liaison, medical interpreter and NGOs coordinator for Coalition forces and the U.S. Army in Iraq.
