Maureen R. Aidasani

 

Biography

Maureen R. Aidasani is Senior Counsel in the Department of Risk, Regulatory & Legal Affairs at the national public accounting firm Grant Thornton LLP.  Ms. Aidasani’s practice includes managing complex securities and malpractice litigation, overseeing regulatory investigations, and counseling internal clients on risk management and various audit and advisory practice issues.  Prior to joining Grant Thornton, she was a litigation associate with Winston & Strawn LLP.   Ms. Aidasani is a co-author, along with Grant Thornton Chief Legal Officer Ken Cunningham, of Overview of Key Defenses Available in a Section 11 Claim Against an Auditor, Accountants’ Liability, ALI-ABA Course of Study Materials (July 9-10, 2009).  She serves on the Executive Committee, and is a past Co-Chair, of the Chicago Bar Association’s Alliance for Women committee.

During law school, Ms. Aidasani was a Law Fellow and Senior Writing Fellow at the Georgetown University Law Center.  In these positions, Ms. Aidasani served as a teaching assistant with the first-year writing program and provided additional counseling to J.D. and graduate students at the law school’s Writing Center.
