Hon. Joseph Michael Claps

 

Biography
Hon. Joseph M. Claps has taught Trial Practice at Loyola for many years. After graduating from law school, he practiced as an Assistant Cook County State's Attorney, eventually becoming Trial Supervisor, Special Prosecutions. He then joined the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, where he eventually became First Assistant Attorney General and then Chief of the Criminal Justice Division. He is currently an Associate Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County, now assigned to the Felony Trial Division after having served in the Juvenile Justice Division.
