Jean Cocozza

 

Biography
Jean Cocozza is the Senior Law Clerk to Justice Charles E. Freeman of the Illinois Supreme Court. In that capacity, Ms. Cocozza drafts proposed opinions, as well as prepares bench memoranda and assists in motion practice, in pending appeals. Prior to joining Justice Freeman's staff, Ms. Cocozza worked as a law clerk to several justices on the Illinois Appellate Court, First District. During law school, Ms. Cocozza was a member of the Loyola Law Journal and served as Student Articles Editor. She also completed both an externship and an internship at the Office of the Illinois Attorney General, Criminal Appeals Bureau, where she assisted in the preparation of direct and collateral review appeals in state courts and habeas corpus cases in federal courts.
