Mark Deaton
Biography
Mark D. Deaton is Senior Vice President and General Counsel of the Illinois Hospital Association. Under his direction, the Association's Legal Department provides legal services to the Association and its affiliated corporations.
IHA's 200 member hospitals confront a variety of complex legal issues. Mr. Deaton and the Legal Department monitor legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments and offer practical guidance to member institutions. Mr. Deaton and the Legal Department also assist the Association in the development of public policy positions and in the advocacy of those positions in the legislature, regulatory agencies, and courts.
In addition to his duties as the Association's General Counsel, Mr. Deaton also serves as Executive Director of the 400-member Illinois Association of Healthcare Attorneys, an organization that offers educational and informational services to attorneys that represent health care clients or are otherwise involved with health care legal issues.
