Gerald E. Nora

 

Biography
Gerald E. Nora is an Assistant State's Attorney serving as the Executive Assistant for Policy in the Office of the Cook County State's Attorney. Professor Nora represents the office (the second largest law office in the nation) before the Illinois legislature and serves as its primary liaison to various state agencies, in addition to maintaining an active trial caseload. He joined the office after receiving his law degree from Georgetown, then left to practice law as a criminal defense attorney and later as a civil litigator. He returned to the State's Attorney's Office, where he served as Chief of Special Prosecutions from 1991 to 1993. He has taught in Loyola's trial practice program for many years.
