Ellen B. Stanfield

Biography
Ellen B. Stanfield is an Assistant Attorney General in the Civil Appeals Division of the Illinois Attorney General's Office. In this capacity, she represents state agencies, employees, and officials in civil cases before state and federal appellate courts. Prior to this, she was an associate in the litigation and appellate litigation departments at Mayer, Brown, Rowe & Maw, LLP, and served as a judicial clerk to the Honorable Joel M. Flaum of the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit. She earned her undergraduate degree in Asian Studies with a minor in English. In law school, she was chosen for the Order of the Coif. She served on the Michigan Law Review as the Executive Editor.
