Chris J. Stathopoulos

 

Biography
Chris Stathopoulos is an associate at Winston & Strawn LLP, where his practice focuses on complex commercial litigation. Mr. Stathopoulos has represented Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of industries and has considerable experience in the areas of telecommunications, healthcare fraud, white collar crime, intellectual property, and corporate criminal investigations. In addition to other pre-trial materials, he has written numerous briefs for federal and state court litigation, and has participated in several trials. Mr. Stathopoulos is a board member of Help Ease Local Poverty, an Illinois not-for-profit dedicated to feeding Chicago's poor, and is very active in pro bono matters. Mr. Stathopoulos won the Chicago Lawyers' Committee For Civil Rights' "Young Attorney of the Year" award in 2005 after successfully representing an interracial couple in one of the first cases brought under the Illinois Civil Hate Crimes Act. Most recently, he represented an individual in her petition for asylum, and he represents the DuSable Museum of African American History. Mr. Stathopoulos received his Bachelors of Arts in Economics and English, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University, and his J.D., cum laude, from the University of Michigan.
