Rachel M. Vorbeck
Biography
Rachel M. Vorbeck is a partner in the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice at Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP. Ms. Vorbeck concentrates her practice in commercial litigation, intellectual property, and appellate advocacy. In addition to litigating a broad range of commercial disputes at the trial level, Ms. Vorbeck has significant appellate experience. She has prosecuted appeals and represented clients both as parties and acting as amicus curie before the United State Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, the Illinois Appellate Court, and the Colorado Supreme Court. Prior to joining Katten, Ms. Vorbeck served as a staff attorney for more than three years at the Seventh Circuit and has worked closely with virtually every active judge on the Court, substantially assisting in drafting decisions disposing of more than 70 appeals in criminal and civil cases. As a staff attorney at the Seventh Circuit, Ms. Vorbeck also served in the court's Motions Unit, where she submitted recommendations to three-judge panels for the disposition of hundreds of substantive motions in criminal and civil appeals, including but not limited to motions for bail, summary affirmance or reversal, preliminary injunctions, emergency stays of removal, petitions for writs of mandamus, petitions for permission to commence interlocutory appeal, certificates of appealability for habeas corpus petitions, and petitions for permission to appeal the grant or denial of class certification.
