Asha Scielzo serves as an adjunct faculty member for American University Washington College of Law, currently teaching Health Care Business Transactions and Fraud Prevention. Ms. Scielzo brings to the classroom significant expertise in a broad range of health law matters, developed in over 11 years of practice with Jones Day in their Washington, Atlanta and Cleveland offices. Ms. Scielzo advises health systems, hospitals, academic medical centers, physician organizations, and pharmaceutical/medical device companies in compliance matters, including fraud and abuse and Stark Law compliance, and reimbursement issues. She has significant experience advising health care providers on the development of an effective compliance program. Ms. Scielzo also has substantial experience in the area of health care transactions, including hospital-physician contracting matters, as well as hospital and health system merger and acquisition transactions.
Prior to attending law school, Ms. Scielzo worked as a health care strategy analyst at the Advisory Board Company in Washington, D.C. and coauthored articles published in distinguished clinical journals such as theJournal of the American Medical Association and Critical Care Medicine.
Ms. Scielzo is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and serves on the Planning Committee for the AHLA Fundamentals of Health Law Conference. She also is a member of the D.C. Bar Health Law Section. She is a frequent speaker and author in the field of health law.
