Basic Overview

Loyola University Chicago School of Law offers a 26-credit Master of Laws (LLM) in Tax Law to which any student with a JD or its equivalent may apply. The LLM offers qualified attorneys the opportunity to develop specialized knowledge and practice skills in the area of tax law. Loyola School of Law graduates who received a Certificate in Taxation may earn the LLM degree on an accelerated basis by completing 12 credits of post-JD study with a grade point average of at least 3.0. Any Loyola School of Law graduate who did not earn a Certificate in Taxation would be required to complete the tax courses required for the Certificate, plus 12 credits of post-JD study with a grade point average of at least 3.0.
