About

Michael DiGiannantonio is an Enforcement Counsel within the Market Regulation Department of CME Group. In this role, he works with other groups within the company to investigate and prosecute cases concerning violations of the CME Group exchanges’ rules. He is also responsible for litigating cases before the CME Group disciplinary and appeal panels.

Prior to joining CME Group, Mr. DiGiannantonio was a Law Clerk for the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois. He was also a litigation associate in the Chicago office of Winston & Strawn LLP. His practice included a variety of subject matters, such as complex commercial litigation, antitrust litigation, class actions, product liability, securities litigation and contract disputes. Mr. DiGiannantonio’s representative matters included assisting in the defense of a large medical technology company in a $1 billion nationwide antitrust class action that resulted in favorable summary judgment granted by the district court and affirmed by the Eighth Circuit. Other matters he worked on include the defense of a large pharmaceutical company in multi-district litigation involving product liability claims and defense of an auditing firm against allegations of aiding and abetting fraud. Mr. DiGiannantonio was a member of Winston & Strawn’s Summer Associate Committee for four years. He has also served as a summer associate advisor and as a member of the firm’s Mentoring Program.

As a law student, Mr. DiGiannantonio was a Judicial Intern for the Honorable John A. Dooley of the Vermont Supreme Court. Mr.DiGiannantonio received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and his Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan.
