About

Tatia Gibbons-LaForme is a Supervisor in the Civil Actions Bureau of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office. In that role, she represents elected county officials, including the Cook County Treasurer, Cook County Clerk and Assessing Officials, and leads a team of eighteen attorneys. Tatia helps Assistant State’s Attorneys with case strategy in defending property tax revenues, reviews appellate briefs and helps Assistants prepare for oral argument in the appellate courts. Tatia has argued in the Illinois Appellate and the Illinois Supreme Courts. Prior to joining the State’s Attorney’s Office, she worked briefly in private practice and contributed to the Ohio Legislative Service Commission, drafting legislation and staffing committee hearings. As a volunteer, Tatia contributes to non-governmental organizations that promote access to education, healthcare and economic development in the developing world.
