About

Gayland O.Hethcoat is an associate in Barnes & Thornburg LLP’s Chicago office and a member of the Healthcare Department. Mr. Hethcoat assists in the representation of physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers and industry stakeholders in a wide range of regulatory, transactional, and dispute matters. His experience includes assisting providers in licensing and other administrative proceedings and government investigations, and in negotiating various services, affiliation, and managed care contracts. In addition, Mr. Hethcoat assists healthcare clients on compliance and risk counseling on licensure matters, medical staff relations, information privacy, fraud and abuse, third-party reimbursement, and other legal issues. 

While in law school, he interned for the Honorable Leslie B. Rothenberg of the Florida Third District Court of Appeal and served as executive editor of the University of Miami Law Review.   Mr. Hethcoat is admitted to practice in Illinois. He is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the American Bar Association's Health Law Section.
