About

Rose Lindsay-Guimaraes is a Staff Attorney at the Federal Defender Program where she has represented hundreds of indigent clients accused of federal crimes in the Northern District of Illinois district court, the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court. Ms. Lindsay-Guimaraes recently created and supervises the Federal Defender Program's Interpreter Internship, which brings aspiring court interpreters to the program to assist with interpretation for the office's many Spanish-speaking clients. She regularly contributes to chapters in Defending a Federal Criminal Case, the authoritative guide to federal criminal practice, and Federal Criminal Practice, a publication of the Illinois Institute for Continuing Legal Education. Ms. Lindsay-Guimaraes graduated from Loyola University Chicago's School of Law in 2003, where she participated in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Competition and was a legal writing tutor. She joined Loyola's adjunct faculty in 2004. She currently teaches Legal Writing and Advanced Writing for Legal Practice: Criminal Law Litigation.
