Whatever happened to that electric stapler? It was great. Can't we get another one of those. The manual one is miserable.
Indeed, the electric stapler was great. Unfortunately, they are very expensive, and breakdown too frequently for the library to constantly replace them. The manual stapler is more tedious than the electric one, but is the best we can do at this time.
Please get a new hole punch!
Consider it done!
While the extended hours are good, it is too little, too late. As an evening student, the only time available to study is on the weekends. The fact that the library closed last Sat. at 7 pm shocked me. I have my first final May 8th and can only benefit from one weekend of extended hours. I am graduating, so it will no longer affect me, but in the future - please consider evening students and start extended weekend hours earlier.
Thank you very much for your input. We've really tried to give as much access as possible to all our students over the years. The library is normally open over 100 hours per week, and we have 3 full time staff members to cover all those hours. When we go to extended hours, we're stretched even more. We will certainly do our best to begin our extended hours sooner in the future.
Students need the library open longer during finals. At least until 2:00. Most schools are open 24 hours during finals.
As noted above, the library's current staffing situation simply prevents us from having hours open longer than they are right now. With the new dorm opening across the street, however, we may have a pool of student assistants who will be able to stay longer during the finals period. We'll certainly keep everyone posted.
Put sign out sheets on the study room doors. I hate kicking people out.
Thanks for your suggestion. It raises a couple of good issues. First, for all students please familiarize yourselves with the study room use policies on our library policies page. Indeed, students who do take the time to sign out rooms will always have first priority to them.
Secondly, the law library will be moving to a system where the study rooms will be checked out using the same system we use to check out books. This system will automatically track who has signed up for the rooms, and for how long. We will also work on creating a more visually enhanced system for signaling when study rooms are properly checked out or not. We hope this helps, and please let us know how we can further enhance this service to you.
Fred LeBaron for President.
