Second-Year Loyola Students
Applications for rising second-year students who are interested in participating in a Learning Community during the 2013-2014 academic year are due February 8th. Please complete the 2013-2014 Sophomore LC Application. This form is a Microsoft Word form and requires the use of Microsoft Word to complete it. If you are using a Mac and have trouble, please use a PC to complete for form. For current LC students, your acceptance will be based on a review of your application as well feedback gathered from your current LC faculty, staff and student leaders. If you are not currently in a Learning Community, acceptance will be based review of your application.
You will still need to fill out your Housing Application and make your pre-payment by the deadline, February 15th. Once you submitted your Housing Application, made your pre-payment, and been accepted to the Learning Community, we will place you in a space in your Learning Community for next year. You will not participate in online room selection, because you will need to live with your Learning Community. We will place you in spaces based on the same lottery process that is used for online room selection and will take into account your preferences for roomtypes. Roommate requests will be honored to the best of our ability.
Incoming First-Year Students
Incoming First-year students apply to participate in a Learning Community through your Housing Application, which will become available in early February and is due May 1st. You will first be be asked if you are interested in participating in a Learning Community and will then have the opportunity to select your LC preferences. Unlike housing assignments, Learning Community acceptance is done on a roling basis beginning March 1st. Therefore, there is benefit to applying early.
Incoming Transfer Students
Transfer students apply to participate in a Learning Community through your Housing Application, which will become available in early February. Transfer students have until July 1st to apply to participate in a Learning Community. However, Learning Communities will fill on a first come first served basis, so please apply early!
