About Us
Our Mission
The Office of Learning Technologies and Assessment encourages the expansion of knowledge by supporting individual faculty, programs and schools as they implement instructional technologies and explore outcomes-based assessments that sustain broad and diverse learning. Our goal is to establish a community dialogue relating to instruction and assessment that encompasses the Jesuit commitment to research and reflection used to raise awareness and foster improvement.
The Office of Learning Technologies and Assessment was established by the Provost in July 2005 in an effort to provide guidance for faculty and academic units interested in exploring and implementing effective uses of instructional technologies and outcomes-based assessments. The Office is based in Academic Affairs and reports to the Vice Provost.
We currently have a Director, A Coordinator of Instructional Technologies and a Coordinator of Online Course Development. Office staff work closely with Academic Technology Services, the Loyola University Chicago Libraries and the Center for Faculty Professional Development to provide learning opportunities in a variety of venues. Additionally, we are instituting several new initiatives that involve meeting directly with department faculty to address their teaching, technology and assessment goals.
