Wayne Magdziarz (B.A. ’82, M.B.A. ’87) has been appointed to the newly created position of vice president and chief of staff for the president's office. Since the arrival of Michael J. Garanzini, S.J., Loyola president, Magdziarz has served as vice president for capital planning, implementing the University’s campus planning agenda, which included the sale and acquisition of properties and the development of major real estate initiatives at the Lake Shore and Water Tower campuses.
“Magdziarz’s outstanding track record and experience make him an excellent fit for the new chief of staff position,” says Garanzini. “Loyola continues to experience tremendous growth, and Wayne will play a critical role in overseeing the University’s day-to-day operations.”
Magdziarz began his career at Loyola more than 20 years ago and has served in several key administrative positions. In his new role, he’ll be responsible for coordinating the daily operations of the president’s office and serving as a liaison between other University administrators to ensure the best use of the president’s time. Magdziarz will continue to be responsible for the University’s campus planning and real estate activities.
“In my 24 years here, there has not been a more exciting time for Loyola,” says Magdziarz. “The dynamic leadership and vision of Father Garanzini give me solid assurance that this will continue for many years. I’m energized to be working directly with him.”
