Dear Loyola graduates and friends,
The weeks surrounding commencement are an extraordinary and energetic time at Loyola. From end-of-year award ceremonies to my President’s Reception for Seniors to the commencement ceremonies themselves, I enjoy interacting with students preparing to go into the world bolstered by the knowledge, values and care for others that are the hallmark of a Loyola education. In these pages,we celebrate graduates as they make the transition from students to the newest members of the Loyola alumni community.
This issue also highlights a variety of faculty perspectives on evolution and intelligent design, announces the innovative Information Commons facility and shares the latest news from your school or college. You’ll read about our record year in gifts, a reflection of the University’s significant progress and strategic direction. We achieved this milestone because of the outstanding mmitment of our alumni and friends. I'm grateful for your support that assures a strong and vibrant Loyola for future generations of students.
MICHAEL J.GARANZINI, S.J. PRESIDENT, LOYOLA UNIVERSITY CHICAGO
