SOFTBALL WINS LEAGUE TITLE

The women’s softball team won the regular-season Horizon League title and knocked off three nationally ranked in-state teams (No. 17 Illinois State, No. 7 Northwestern, and No. 14 DePaul). The Ramblers have won the regular-season League title four times in the last seven years. Junior Kat Krause tied her single-season record for home runs with 11. She hit 22 in the last two seasons.

TOP ACADEMIC PROGRESS RATE

The men’s cross country/track and field team was recognized by the NCAA for top Academic Progress Rate (APR) scores. Loyola was among those cited for posting multi-year scores in the top 10 percent of all squads in their respective sports.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT

Thirteen players on the men’s volleyball team were named to the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (MIVA) All-Academic Team, achieving at least a 3.0 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale after the completion of the fall semester.

LOYOLAN REPEATS ALL-AMERICAN STATUS

Senior James Grunst was named a Second Team All-American by the American Volleyball Coaches Association, becoming the first player in Loyola history to earn All-America accolades on multiple occasions.

RAMBLER MAKES MEET-WINNING HIGH JUMP

Senior cross country/track and field member Marcia Faustin qualified for the NCAA Midwest Regional with a meet-winning high jump of 5-5.75 at the Billy Hayes Invitational hosted by Indiana University in May.
