Enterprising Kitchen

This not-for-profit organization provides job, business, and life skills training for women by teaching them how to produce, package, and market non-perishable food products and a line of finely crafted natural soaps. Some Loyola classes have helped try to market these products and soaps.

This not-for-profit serves low income residents of Rogers Park through a number of fine programs. Among them are a dental clinic, an elementary school, Head Start care, parent programs, tutoring, family literacy, support for teen parents, domestic violence prevention, HIV/AIDS prevention and services, legal clinic, seniors groups, job readiness, and community health programs. It has needs for roughly 300 volunteers.

Insight Arts

This is a community-based contemporary arts organization that provides free art education programs to youth, adults, and seniors in Rogers Park. Its employs art education to engage social and political issues and it emphasizes the importance of social justice, dialogue, and cultural diversity. A number of Loyola Theater students have worked with Insight Arts programs.

REST (Residents for Effective Shelter Transition)

REST runs two year-round shelters, case management services, a warming shelter, a housing program for the mentally ill and substance abusers as well as daytime programs. It offers a clinic as well with meetings for AA, Narcotics Anonymous, and Cocaine Anonymous. It regularly can make use of 300 volunteers.

This church supports a Sunday evening soup kitchen, tutoring programs, youth fellowship, senior programs, general assistance programs. It offers special support for the needs of immigrants from India and hosts a Teluga Congregation and an Asian Indian congregation. It can use 300 volunteers.

This organization serves low-income children across the city by providing tutoring, mentoring and health care programs. Loyola has regularly let them use our campus for a number of their programs. They can use 175 volunteers. Loyola regularly hosts a number of CYP programs at the Lakeshore campus.
