which is located in Chicago’s Englewood neighborhood. Once a week from January to June, Master Teacher Susan Friel and LUMA’s Curator of Education Ann Meehan worked with African American youth ages 9 to 12 on three projects inspired by what they saw at LUMA—a triptych, depicting a story in three parts, images of heaven, using found objects, and a wooden box, decorated to show off its contents.
