I. University Core Curriculum - 48 hours

Students complete the amount of credit hours in each knowledge area indicated below. University Core Curriculum courses carry three credit hours per class, unless otherwise indicated. Some requirements may be fulfilled by transfer credit. Please speak to an SCPS academic advisor about prior credits. As of Fall 2011, all Communication courses have moved from the CMUN prefix to COMM.  Course numbers have also been adjusted but content has not.  For more information, visit the School of Communication.

IV. Paralegal Studies - 24 hours

Students also have the opportunity to earn a Certificate in Paralegal Studies as a part of degree completion. The following guidelines must be met before paralegal certificate courses are taken:

• Cumulative GPA of 2.5 with a minimum of 12 Loyola hours completed
• Within 44 hours of degree completion
• A minimum of two completed courses total from the following: 
  - Any Literary Knowledge and Experience course
  - ENGL 310 Business and Professional Writing
• At least three ODL-titled courses completed
• An interview with the director of the Institute for Paralegal Studies

V. Electives - 18 hours

Course offered in the SCPS schedule, the 16-week schedule or from existing transfer credit can be used to fulfill elective credit requirements.
