Personal Information

Dr. Lauve received his B.S. in mathematics from the University of Oklahoma and his Ph.D. in mathematics from Rutgers University. Before joining the faculty at Loyola in 2010, he held postdoctoral positions at the University of Quebec at Montreal and Texas A&M University. He also taught at McGill University and was a Project NExT fellow (sun dot). Dr. Lauve's research is supported by the National Security Agency. His research interests lie in algebra and combinatorics, especially when they appear together, as in combinatorial representation theory, pointed Hopf algebras, or the mathematical theory of words. His results has appeared in leading journals, includingInternational Mathematics Research Notices, Journal ofAlgebra, and SIAM Journal on Discrete Mathematics.
